“Travel and healthy aging, the process of remaining as vibrant as possible in the body and mind are closely associated”, reports Michael Hodin, executive director of the Global Coalition on Aging.  “Taking into account socio-economic differences, our research found women who vacationed at least twice a year had significantly lower risk for heart issues and death than women who vacation every six years.  Men who took annual vacations lowered their riskof death from heart disease by 30% over the non-vacationing group.”

The benefits of travel, he points out, “are almost immediate.  After only a day or two, 89% of respondents were less stressed; it didn’t matter if it was a two week family vacation or a weekend road trip.”

Another expert agrees “Americans are only just beginning to understand the value of travel for physical and mental well-being and social connections… and must now take action for travel as a means to live longer, healthier and more fulfilled lives,” says Catherine Collison, president of Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies, in New York, regarding the center’s research.

You should not wait until retirement years to enjoy traveling.  With this new research you can live longer and more productive years into later life when you incorporate travel into your lifestyle early and frequently.  Travel doesn’t have to be something that is out of reach.  There are vacations for every lifestyle and budget.  I’d love to share some amazing destinations with you.  Contact me if you would like to learn how I travel at deep discounts to all the places I’ve dreamed of going but never thought that I could afford.
